การสมัครงานครั้งแรกของ “สาธิต กาลวันตวานิช”

ระหว่างวันที่ 10 กันยายน - 4 ตุลาคม 2569

 

สถานที่ Art Jewel ชั้น 5 Siam Paragon

 

                       

นิทรรศการนี้ไม่ใช่ประวัติชีวิตของชายที่ชื่อสาธิต กาลวันตวานิช 

เพราะในโลกที่ทุกคนพยายามตะเกียกตะกายหาความสำเร็จ ประวัติศาสตร์ส่วนตัวของคนคนหนึ่ง อาจไม่ได้มีความหมายอะไรเลย 

ตลอด 66 ปีที่ผ่านมา เขาไม่เคยทำ Resume หรือ CV อย่างเป็นทางการ ไม่ใช่เพราะเขาเป็นตำนาน ที่ใครก็รู้จัก แต่เป็นเพราะชีวิตของเขาขับเคลื่อนด้วย ‘โง่ศาสตร์’ — ศาสตร์แห่งการลองทำสิ่งสนุก ๆ ไปเรื่อย ๆ โดยไม่มีแผนธุรกิจรองรับ และไม่ได้มองถึงเป้าหมายปลายทาง

Resume แผ่นยักษ์ในนิทรรศการนี้จึงไม่ได้มีไว้เพื่ออวยความสำเร็จ ประกาศศักดาของชายนามสาธิต หากแต่จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อเปลือยเปล่าความล้มเหลว ความดื้อรั้น และความโง่เขลา

เพื่อให้ผู้ชมได้เห็นว่า การเดินทางสร้างสรรค์ที่ยาวนานไม่ได้เกิดจากความฉลาดหลักแหลม แต่เกิดจากใจที่พร้อมจะล้ม แล้วลุกขึ้นมาประสานเครื่องมือธรรมดาอย่าง Head (สมอง) Heart (หัวใจ) และ Hand (สองมือ) ให้ทำงานร่วมกันต่อไป

 ผืนผ้าใบในห้องแห่งนี้จึงเปรียบเสมือนการรวบรวมประสบการณ์ทั้งหมด ที่เขามักเรียกว่า ‘DOT’ หรือ ‘จุด’ ซึ่งถูกนำมาถักทอจนกลายเป็นงานศิลปะที่ใช้ความรู้สึกในแต่ละช่วงชีวิตมาเล่าเรื่อง ส่งต่อจิตวิญญาณ ของคนที่เชื่อว่า ความล้มเหลวในอดีตคือสิ่งเดียวที่หล่อหลอมปัจจุบัน และการลงมือทำในปัจจุบันคือสิ่งเดียว ที่จะกำหนดอนาคต 

เพราะบางทีสิ่งที่เราต้องเรียนรู้อาจไม่ใช่ความสำเร็จของผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ ไม่ใช่การถอดรหัสความฉลาด ของใคร แต่คือความกล้าที่จะโง่และสนุกไปกับชีวิตในแบบของเราเอง

มีคนเคยบอกว่าสาธิตคือคนที่ ‘เกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ เป็นตำนาน’ แต่นิยามเหล่านั้น คงเป็นเรื่อง ไกลตัว เกินไปสำหรับคนแก่ที่ยังรั้นจะทำงานชิ้นตรงหน้า สำหรับเขาแล้ว ชีวิตมีเพียงแค่การ ‘เกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ ทำต่อไป’  

และนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ ก็เป็นเพียงจุดเริ่มต้นของ DOT ต่อไปในชีวิตของเขาเท่านั้น

‘Don't Stop Me Now เกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ ทำต่อไป’

 

กาลเวลา วิกฤตการณ์ หรือแม้กระทั่งความตาย ไม่อาจหยุดยั้งการเดินทางของชายที่ชื่อสาธิตได้ ตลอด 6 ทศวรรษที่ผ่านมา คาแรกเตอร์อย่าง Mr. P สะท้อนวัฏจักร ‘เกิด แก่ เกือบตาย’ แต่ก็รอดพ้นและสร้างพลัง ต่อมาได้เสมอ

นิทรรศการ ‘The Resum’ ครั้งนี้ หวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าจะช่วยเติมพลังให้ทุกคนออกเดินทางค้นหา ‘DOT’ ต่อ ๆ ไปในชีวิตของตัวเอง โดยไม่ยอมให้คำว่า ‘อายุมากแล้ว’ หรือ ‘ถึงเวลาเกษียณ’ มาเป็นขอบเขต จำกัดจินตนาการ 

เพราะอดีตเป็นตัวกำหนดปัจจุบัน และปัจจุบันคือสิ่งที่เราสร้างเพื่อกำหนดอนาคตของตัวเราเอง

"ถ้าสาธิตทำได้ ทุกคนก็ทำได้ แค่สะสม DOT ของคุณไปเรื่อย ๆ จนกว่าจะถึงวันที่คุณ เป็นตัวเอง ที่มีความเฉพาะตัวที่สุด”

The Very First Job Application of ‘Satit Kalavuntavanich’

 

This exhibition is not the biography of Satit Kalawantavanich.

In the world where everyone scrambles for success, one man’s life story might seem to bear little meaning. 

Over the past 66 years, he has never had a formal resume or CV. This is not because he is a well-known legend, but because his life has been driven by ‘The Wisdom of Stupidity’, which is just to keep doing something fun without any business plan or destination.

The gigantic resume exhibited here therefore is not to praise Satit Kalavuntavanich’s success or greatness. It is to lay bare his failure, his obstinacy, and his stupidity. The audience will see how a long journey of creation is not birthed from intelligence. In fact, it is from a willingness to fall and then rise by harmonizing very simple tools like Head, Heart, and Hands and keep going. 

Every canvas in this room is all his experiences, which he often calls ‘DOT’. Every little one is neatly weaved into his art, representing emotions from each phase of his life, passing on a spirit of a firm believer of past failure as the only thing that shapes your present and doing as the only thing that defines your future.

Sometimes, what we need to learn is neither about the success of some legends nor unpacking someone’s intelligence. Sometimes, it is about being brave enough to be stupid and having fun in our own way.

Someone said that Satit is a person who ‘comes into being, existing, and becomes legend’, but the definition is too extreme for a stubborn old man who insists on working. For him, life means to ‘come into being, existing, and keep going’. 

Therefore, this exhibition is merely another start of the next ‘DOT’ of his life.

‘Don't Stop Me Now: Come into being, existing, and keep going’

Time, disasters, or even the prospect of death could not stop the journey of a man named Satit. Throughout these six decades, The character ‘Mr. P’ resembles the cycle of ‘born, aged, almost dead’. But just almost, because he always comes through and keeps empowering.

The first job application through ‘The Resume’ is not a story of how the man becomes successful, but a list of questions to each and every person walking into this room.

Are you following someone else’s formula for success?

Are you surrendering to the limitations called age and retirement?  

Have you tried being ‘stupid’ and let yourself fail just to collect yourself more ‘DOTs’ day
by day?

Some day, the little dots you scatter along the way, with or without you knowing it, might find their ways back to connect and create new answers to life.

If Satit can do it, you can too.

คุณสาธิต กาลวันตวานิช (หรือที่รู้จักในวงการว่า "พี่แก่") เป็นนักคิด ครีเอทีฟไดเรกเตอร์ ผู้ก่อตั้งบริษัท สามหน่อ  บริษัท ฟีโนมีนา (production house) และนักออกแบบระดับตำนานของประเทศไทย ผู้สร้างชื่อเสียงในระดับโลกจากการเป็นผู้ให้กำเนิดแบรนด์ดีไซน์ Propaganda และคาแรกเตอร์สุดทะเล้นอย่าง "Mr.P" ก่อตั้ง studio avocado ในช่วงวัย 60 ปี เพื่อนำประสบการณ์ ทั้งหมดมาให้คำปรึกษาที่รู้จักกันในนาม การทำหน้าที่เป็น “Brand narrative” ปัจจุบันในวัย 66 ปี (ข้อมูลปี 2569) เขายังคงโลดแล่นในวงการสร้างสรรค์และได้ผันตัวเข้าสู่วงการศิลปะในฐานะศิลปินหน้าใหม่อย่างเต็มตัวในการทำงานศิลปะ Fine art

About the Artist

Satit Kalavuntavanich, widely known in Thailand’s creative industry as “P’Kae,” is a visionary thinker, creative director, and one of the country’s legendary designers. He is the founder of Sam Noh and Phenomena,
a renowned production house, and has gained international recognition as the creator of the iconic design brand Propaganda and its playful signature character, “Mr. P.”

In his 60s, Sathit founded Studio Avocado, drawing upon decades of experience to provide creative and strategic consultancy through his role as a “Brand narrative”.

Now 66 years old (as of 2026), he remains an active force in the creative industry while embarking on a new chapter as an emerging artist, fully dedicating himself to the world of fine art.
